Still On Move
Hi there,
as you might have noticed: the project website is still on move. Sorry for that ...
First I thought it would be the best to use the Drupal CMS (the page you're looking at right now) as the base platform to inform about projects and host the related documentation etc. But as the project has grown - and more projects are about to be launched - the current system and structure isn't sufficient any more: "Some information is placed here, some other there, bugtracker is over there and forum is just on the other side."
So I decided to have a look at some integrated project environments. And I found "Redmine". Redmine seems to do the job quite well. It contains:
- A nice looking SVN Browser with some additional features lilke statistics
- A wiki for documentation
- A integrated bugtracker, which can migrate from Mantis BT
- Project News
- A forum
- ... and some other useful stuff
And the best: You onle need one single account ot use it all. If you already had a Mantis BT account, you just can login to dev.root1.de ... Your account has been migrated completely.
- So in future, http://www.root1.de will inform about what root1.de is etc and simply links to http://dev.root1.de, where all the development related things are placed.
- Each project will have a sub-domain (f.i. http://simon.root1.de) which directly links to the project, hosted at dev.root1.de
So pleace excuse the movements in the last few days/weeks. I hope this is/was the last move for the next year(s).
